Why AI-written articles need a human reader

Drafting got cheap. A blog post, a landing page or a help article that used to take a day now takes a few minutes, and most of it reads fine. That is the good part.

Checking got rare. The person who used to read a draft before it went live now has a tool that writes faster than they can read. So the draft goes up as-is. Nobody is paid to be skeptical.

The failure mode is specific. AI drafts are rarely wrong in a vague way. They are wrong in a confident, detailed way: “a 2022 survey by the National Retail Federation found that 61% of shoppers abandon carts over shipping costs.” That sentence has a source, a year and a number, and the reader has no reason to doubt it. Neither did the tool. That is what AI content review is for, and it is what we do.

What the editor checks

Facts and claims

Statistics, dates, prices, product features, legal and medical statements. Wrong, outdated or unverifiable claims get flagged.

Invented specifics

Studies that don’t exist, quotes nobody said, tools that were never built, examples presented as real.

Logic and structure

Contradictions, circular arguments, conclusions the body doesn’t earn, sections that exist to fill space.

Reader fit and voice

Does it deliver what the title promised, at the right level? Does it sound like a person, or like a template with hedges and tidy triads?

Your business

Claims about your own product or service that are wrong, risky, or promise something you can’t keep.

Mechanics and intent

Grammar, terminology, headings that don’t match their sections, and whether the page gives a searcher the thing they came for.

That is the short version. The full list is on What we check.

What you get back

One email, usually within one business day. It opens with a short cover note from the editor: what the article does well, the one or two problems that matter most, and anything you should decide yourself. Below that is a block of numbered corrections. Each is an instruction and quotes the passage it refers to, so you and your AI can both find it. You paste the block into the AI that wrote the article along with the article text, and the AI applies the fixes. Your voice and your tool stay the same.

1. Remove the statistic or replace it with one you can cite. We could not find a "2023 Small Business Trends report" with this figure. Where: "According to the 2023 Small Business Trends report, 74% of customers won't return after one bad delivery." 2. These two sentences contradict each other. Pick one position and cut the other. Where: "Free shipping is now expected by every online shopper... Most shoppers are happy to pay for shipping if the price is clear." 3. Cut this paragraph. It restates the introduction and adds no new information. Where: "In summary, shipping is a crucial part of the customer experience, and getting it right matters more than ever."

Who it’s for

Solo founders and consultants

You write your own content, you publish under your own name, and nobody reads it before it goes live. We are the reader.

Small marketing teams

You have a calendar to fill and no editor on staff. Send us the pieces that carry the most risk: product pages, comparison posts, anything with numbers.

Agencies

You produce volume for clients who assume someone checked. Put a human review between the draft and the client, at a flat price you can bill through.

Anyone burned once

A made-up statistic a customer caught, a wrong price, a paragraph that made you wince a week later. Once is enough.

Built by people who check their work

baryreview is a product of Datarecovery.com, Inc., of Edwardsville, Illinois. The company has run a data recovery lab since 1997, work where you are trusted with things that matter and every result has to be verifiable. We brought the same habit to reading.

The reviews are done by professional editors and content writers, led by John Krane, owner of the content agency relaycontent.com. Every review is read by a person, in the order received. No automated pass, no detector, no score.

Common questions

Do you rewrite the article?

No. You get corrections as instructions, with the passage quoted. Your AI applies them, so the article stays in your voice and your workflow.

How long does it take?

Usually within one business day. Reviews are done by a person in the order received, so we don't promise a clock time.

What does it cost?

One flat fee per article, paid by card when you order. The price is shown on the order form and on the pricing page.

What if you can't review my page?

If the page is unreachable, private or not a web page, you get a full refund. You can also cancel for a full refund any time before the review starts.

Do you detect whether the article was written by AI?

No. We don't run detectors and we don't "humanize" text to pass them. We read the article the way an editor and an informed reader would, and tell you what's wrong with it.
